BIPOC Climate Justice Dialogue

September 15, 2023
2:00 PM - 7:00 PM
America/New_York
The Forum at Columbia University, 601 W. 125th St., New York, NY 10027 Auditorium

Join the HBCU Green Fund, Donors of Color, Columbia World Projects, and Columbia University Climate School for the third annual BIPOC Climate Justice Dialogue. Discussions will focus on lessons learned, gaps, and opportunities to maximize Justice40 for implementing and operationalizing a just transition.

BIPOC communities’ individuals have borne the brunt of toxic pollution, disinvestment, and disproportionate impacts from climate change for far too long. Currently, historic investments, pieces of legislation, and programs have been deployed with a commitment to justice and equity. How can we ensure the transformational potential of these funds and policies is met? How do we ensure direct access to marginalized and underserved communities?

The Dialogue will bring Black, Indigenous, and People of Color climate justice experts, U.S. government officials, and philanthropy representatives to discuss national climate justice strategies and the role of people, policy, pedagogy, and philanthropies in delivering them. This year the BIPOC Climate Justice dialogue will be held in-person, as part of the New York Climate Week.
