Can 8 Billion Humans Save Space for the Rest of Earth's Living Things?

As COP-15, the latest meeting under the 30-year-old U.N. Convention on Biological Diversity, gets under way in Montreal, explore issues and options on the table with longtime journalist Andy Revkin of the Columbia Climate School, leading journalists on the biological diversity beat, and Madhu Rao, chair of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas.

Scheduled journalists include Catrin Einhorn of The New York Times and Rhett Butler, the founder of http://mongabay.com - a global nonprofit news platform covering environmental science and conservation in six languages and 80 countries. Butler recently won the Heinz Award for his pioneering work building and running Mongabay.

Einhorn is a deeply experience journalist who has worked in all media, been part of a Pulitzer-winning Times team and shifted to covering wildlife and extinction in 2020:
