With the impacts of climate change threatening the health and safety of communities around the world, preparing for and increasing resilience to extreme heat, sea-level rise, and extreme weather events is more important than ever. Despite the urgent need to increase climate adaptation and resilience in order to better withstand these climate impacts, the majority of resources and attention are often directed at mitigation efforts rather than adaptation efforts.
At this event, we will hear from experts from around the world about why climate adaptation and resilience planning is an essential part of the response to the climate crisis. We will also delve into what adaptation and resilience success looks like and how success can be replicated in communities around the world.

Directions to the Vanderbilt Room: Once inside the main lobby (large couch area), head up the escalators on the right-hand side, and you will check in with our guest relations coordinator, who will grant you access to the elevator bank bringing you up to the seventh floor. Head through the double doors and then take a right into The Vanderbilt Room.

Experts join the Center for American Progress and the Columbia Climate School of Columbia University to discuss strategies for climate adaptation and why resilience planning is an essential part of the response to the climate crisis.
