Moderator

Zach Cunningham | Training & Education Associate at the Cornell ILR Climate Jobs Institute.

In this role, Cunningham works with labor partners and state-based climate jobs coalitions to develop educational programs and resources that engage union members and leaders in the fight to tackle climate change through high-quality, union job creation. In addition, he is currently studying the role pre-apprenticeship programs play in creating a diverse, equitable clean energy economy.

Before joining the Climate Jobs Institute, Cunningham was a high school teacher and worked as a labor educator with the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA), Local 1000 AFSCME. He holds a Master of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell’s ILR School and sits on the United Association for Labor Education board.

Julia Bovey | Director of External Affairs for Offshore Wind | Eversource Energy

As the Director of External Affairs of Offshore Wind at Eversource Energy, Julia Bovey works on advocating for clean, affordable, resilient, electricity for all customers. She is passionate about integrating renewable energy onto the electric grid and empowering customers and communities in the clean-energy transition.
Before joining Eversource Energy, Julia was the Director of External Affairs at Equinor Wind US, developing the first major offshore wind projects off the coasts of New York and New Jersey. She holds a M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University and a B.A. in History from Barnard College.

Rachel Goodgal | Government Affairs Manager | The Energy Efficiency Alliance

Rachel recently earned an MPA in Environmental Science & Policy from Columbia University, completing a pivot towards pursuing her longstanding interest in climate full-time. Her professional interests lie in climate change mitigation strategies in the sectors of clean energy, sustainable transportation, and refrigerant management. Prior to graduate school, I was heavily involved with climate activism organizations Climate Crisis Policy and 350NYC.

Before switching her career focus to climate, she was an actor and theatre producer, where she performed on off- and off-off-Broadway stages and in film projects.
