Please welcome Alex Stone and Siv Ngesi to the Columbia Climate School for a virtual presentation.

Alex and Siv will have a lively discussion touching on the issues of disability, climate change and the built environment. Through a discussion about the Amandla Project, they'll also discuss perceptions of disability in South Africa and how the impacts of climate change and the built environment impact program operations.

Alex Stone is the founder of the Amandla Project, an internship and leadership development program in South Africa for US-based college students with mobility disabilities. Stone, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, holds a masters degree in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont.

Siv Ngesi, a successful film actor who was recently featured opposite Viola Davis in The Woman King, is a cultural icon in South Africa. Ngesi uses his platform to advocate for many pressing social issues. He is a board member of The Amandla Project.

Please join us in welcoming Alex and Siv to the Columbia’s Climate School!
