February 1, 2023
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
America/New_York
Gary C. Comer Geochemistry Building, 61 Route 9W, Palisades, NY 10964 Seminar Room

Session Leader: Mackenzie Carr, Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Anti-Bias, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory

Leading inclusively isn’t just a “nice to have” – Harvard Business Review research shows that teams with inclusive leaders are 17% more likely to report that they are high performing, 20% more likely to say they make high-quality decisions, and 29% more likely to report behaving collaboratively.

The Climate School and the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory is committed utilizing best practices and efforts toward supporting equitable and inclusive leadership. By supporting Inclusive leadership, we hope to ensure that all diverse thinking is welcome, all members and visitors of our campuses feel respected, and members of our community feel heard. We believe some of the long-term efforts we have in place will make a difference in how we continue to commit to creating and maintaining a culture of respect and belonging. Our goal is to support all people from a variety of backgrounds to collaborate while avoiding stereotypes, assumptions, biases and discrimination.

This event will take place in the Comer Seminar Room and will also be streamed via Zoom. Please register to receive the Zoom link. For those joining in person, we will have light refreshments and beverages available.
