Please join the Center on Global Energy Policy for a roundtable discussion and lunch with Marta Jara, Non-Resident Fellow at the Institute of Americas, and Dr. Luisa Palacios, Senior Research Scholar and co-head of the ESG working group at CGEP. Lunch will be provided.

The focus of the roundtable will be to analyze the competitive forces that are at play in the context of the disruptions we see and anticipate (from batteries to blockchain), the role of governments as majority shareholders, and the push from the public to embrace climate action.

Biography

Marta Jara is an Ex President of ANCAP (Administración Nacional de Combustibles, Alcohol y Portland), Uruguay. After more than 20 years international experience at Royal Dutch Shell, Marta left her position as President of the Shell companies in Mexico to join the energy industry in her native Uruguay. Chemical Engineer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires • MA in Strategic Financial Management at Kingston University, UK, executive education programs at IMD in Lausanne and Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She has accepted an invitation to the upcoming Georgetown Leadership Seminar 2019 at the Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service.
