Please join us on October 17th from 2-3pm for a conversation with Dr. Larry Susskind, a distinguished figure in environmental mediation. Dr. Susskind earned his Ph.D. in Urban Planning from MIT in 1973. As a professor at MIT since 1986, he has been instrumental in shaping the field of environmental conflict resolution. With a remarkable career spanning over four decades, he's led more than fifty complex dispute mediations related to contentious environmental issues. Dr. Susskind has also played a pivotal role as the Founder and President of the Consensus Building Institute, a nonprofit organization providing mediation and dispute resolution services globally.

As an author, he has contributed to the discourse through his publications, including but not limited to Water Diplomacy: A Negotiated Approach to Managing Complex Water Networks, Environmental Diplomacy: Negotiating More Effective Global Agreements, and Managing Climate Risks in Coastal Communities: Strategies for Engagement, Readiness and Adaptation. Dr. Susskind’s work as a mediator, educator, and author has made a profound impact on the resolution of environmental disputes and the advancement of sustainable environmental policies.

In our discussion, we will hear from Dr. Susskind on his recent studies on transboundary water diplomacy and sources of opposition to renewable energy projects. Mark your calendars and register now!
