We are excited to invite you to the sixth and final webinar in our series titled "Fostering Youth-Led Innovation for the SDGs". This series has been a joint venture by the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University and Entrepreneurship at Environment at the University of Waterloo, supported by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, SDSN Canada, USA, and Mexico.

This webinar will delve into ethical action on climate through the lens of activists, academics, CBOs, and NGOs. It is inspired by the Ethics in Action initiative, a series of meetings held at the Vatican that aimed to promote dialogue and find consensus about the values needed to advance transformative action for our common home and the human family.

The role of ethics in sustainability is paramount. It is the ethical responsibility of each individual and organization to contribute towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ethics guide us in making decisions that are not just beneficial for us but also for the environment and future generations. With climate change being a pressing issue, it is more important than ever for CBOs and NGOs to take ethical actions to combat this crisis. This webinar will provide a platform to discuss these crucial topics.

We are privileged to have a distinguished panel of experts who will share their insights and experiences on this topic:

Ann Nielsen - Director, Virtual Learning & Technological Services, National Institute of Excellence in Teaching

Melanie Minuche - Climate Justice Organizer, Alianza America

Santera Matthews, Coordinator, Illinois Green New Deal

As part of our panel discussion, we will explore (1) what ethics in action looks like when it comes to community-based sustainability work, (2) ethical dilemmas in climate action work and how to navigate them, (3) how to ensure that climate action work is equitable and empowers communities that are disproportionately affected by climate change.

As a participant, you will gain valuable insights into ethics in climate action, learning from climate activists and academics on sustainability and ethical action. You'll also learn about the challenges faced by NGOs and CBOs in this field and how they navigate ethical dilemmas.
