About this Event
Target Audience: Grades 6-8, 9-12, Undergraduates, Educators, the Public
While coral reefs only cover about 1% of the ocean floor, they support an estimated 25% of all known marine species! Coral reefs are critically important for a healthy and functioning ocean that provides us with an endless amount of resources and ecosystem services. In this session, we will explore the challenges that coral reefs experience in the face of climate change and the research that is conducted to better understand and provide solutions to restore coral reefs and build their resilience. You will hear from Kush Gulati, a high school participant in the Columbia Climate School's Pre-College programs, about his unique journey that inspired him to protect the underwater world.
A link to join the session will be provided to all registered participants 24 hours in advance.
