From Antalya to Addis Ababa:Making COP32 Deliver
A High-Level Conversation in Partnership with the UNFCCC
As governments prepare for COP31 in Antalya this November and Ethiopia looks ahead to hosting COP32 in Addis Ababa in 2027, this high-level conversation featuring Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and Professor Jeffrey Sachs will consider how the COP process can accelerate climate action in the years ahead.
The COP process remains the central forum for international cooperation on climate change, bringing governments together to establish common frameworks, advance collective commitments, and build momentum for global action. At the same time, translating those commitments into results depends on a broader ecosystem of institutions, investments, policies, and partnerships operating at the national, regional, and international levels.
With COP31 just weeks away, Climate Week NYC offers a timely moment to look from Antalya toward Addis Ababa and consider what can be built in the intervening period. The conversation will explore how governments, international institutions, business, civil society, and other actors can work alongside the COP process to mobilize finance, advance practical solutions, and build the momentum needed for COP32 to translate ambition into action at greater scale and speed.
