Community Participation and Planning Guides for Local Climate Action in Chile (Virtual Webinar)
This webinar will be conducted in Spanish.
The National Center for Disaster Preparedness (NCDP), Columbia Climate School, invites you to the launch of the Community Participation and Planning Guides for Local Climate Action, developed through the project 'Strengthening Capacities and Civic Participation for Climate-Resilient Communities in Chile'. The project is led by NCDP, the Columbia Global Center Santiago, GSAPP, the Center for Climate and Resilience Research (CR2), and the Chilean Institute for Disaster Resilience (Itrend), with support from Columbia World Projects, Columbia Global.
In the context of Chile’s Climate Change Framework Law and the development of Municipal Climate Change Action Plans, we produced a set of replicable methodological guides that compile practical tools to support the design and implementation of local climate action plans, based on collaborative work with the municipalities of Alto del Carmen, Coquimbo, and San José de Maipo.
During the event, we will present the guides and hear directly from municipal representatives on their experiences, challenges, and lessons learned.
