Climate LIVE K12 is dedicated to bringing the science of sustainability to K12 students, educators, and parents.
About this Event
Target Audience: Grades K-12, Educators, the Public
The accelerating loss of biodiversity is not only an ecological crisis—it is a financial one. Natural systems underpin global markets, from food and water to infrastructure resilience, supply-chain reliability, and public health. Yet these dependencies remain largely invisible in traditional financial analysis. This talk explores how biodiversity risk is rapidly reshaping investment strategies, regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance. It introduces key tools such as TNFD, science-based targets for nature, and nature-positive transition pathways. By reframing ecosystems as critical economic assets rather than externalities, we can unlock new models of value creation that strengthen both environmental and financial resilience. The goal is to equip participants with a clearer understanding of how capital can accelerate—and benefit from—biodiversity restoration.
