Kristy Drutman, a globally recognized environmental activist and content creator, will join students from The Climate School and guests for an evening of interactive conversation surrounding topics of climate science, anti-racist communication, and media literacy.

Kristy has created a multimedia platform called “Brown Girl Green” which consists of social media content, a podcast, and most recently, a green jobs board. In her work, she navigates the intersections of diversity, media, and intersectional environmentalism. Kristy has interviewed a wealth of interdisciplinary subjects including Al Gore and Corey Booker, and has created an online community based on culturally relevant climate storytelling.

Recently, Kristy appeared in the New York Times in a piece about solution-oriented climate activism, and has also appeared in publications such as Democracy Now!, Refinery29, and the She Explores podcast.

The conversation will be hosted on Zoom, with opportunity for participants to engage via chat and video. Conversation will be moderated by Climate and Society student, Suzie Hicks.
