The Future of Electric Vehicles in the Energy Transition

This event is the ninth and final in an ongoing series of student-only virtual seminars that pairs researchers from the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia SIPA (CGEP) and faculty members from  across Columbia University to discuss the future of the energy transition from a multi-disciplinary perspective. 

In this seminar, two scholars will discuss the future of electric vehicles in the energy transition and the role they can play in the decarbonization of the transportation sector. The conversation will feature:

  • Marianne Kah, Adjunct Senior Research Scholar and Member of the Advisory Board, Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia SIPA; former Chief Economist of ConocoPhillips
  • Bruce Usher, Co-Director of the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise; Elizabeth B. Strickler '86 and Mark T. Gallogly '86 Faculty Director; Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia Business School

Maria Castillo (SEAS ’21) will moderate the conversation. The seminar will be highly interactive, with the majority of the time reserved for discussion amongst the participants.
