Join us on Friday, September 18, at the historic Riverside Church in New York City for “The Immorality of Inaction: Voicing Truth on Climate.” This gathering will bring people together to give voice to what we know to be true about the catastrophic consequences of allowing the pillage and pollution of the Earth—and what we are called to do about it.
We have the scientific knowledge, technology and financial resources to decrease fossil fuel emissions, restore integrity, protect communities and prevent ecosystem collapse. Yet we don’t. In the face of shifting political winds and corporate profit-seeking, our systems have us ever more locked into a trajectory of self-destruction. The ones that suffer first and worst are the most vulnerable among us. We cannot be silent. Through speech, story and song, we will invigorate and empower a unified moral community voice. Let’s build the public pressure needed to move from a culture of denial and delay to one of decisive action.
