About the Course
This course is open to interested students across all of Columbia's schools and programs, including undergraduates. Alumni, faculty, and researchers are also welcome to form founding teams that include a minimum of two current students intending to register for the course.

The impact venture incubator course [B8527] will be taught on Wednesdays from 5:40 to 8:55 p.m., Term B of the spring 2022 semester by adjunct professor Joy Fairbanks ’94.

The course fosters cross-campus access and collaboration to leverage Columbia talent and resources to build teams, access any necessary technology, advance ventures, and gain investor interest. Participants will build new or advance existing social, environmental, health, and other impact ventures through collaborative investigation, experimentation, iterative design, network building, and compelling presentations to interested early-stage investors.

Suitable impact ventures include but are not limited to health and wellness, climate impact, environmental sustainability, education, future of work, foodtech, fintech, insurtech, journalism/new media, human rights/social issues, economic or digital inclusivity, etc.
