Please join us to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the International Research Institute for Climate and Society on Sept. 16, 2022!

Established in 1996 as a cooperative agreement between NOAA's Climate Program Office and Columbia University, the International Research Institute for Climate and Society has worked to enhance our capability to understand, anticipate and manage the impacts of climate in developing countries. The institution is recognized for its leadership in climate forecast and prediction and has played a central role in the development of the field of climate services. As part of the new Columbia Climate School, IRI will use its decades of experience and global and national partnerships to help the School to develop and inspire knowledge-based climate solutions and educate future leaders.

The event will also serve to commemorate the lives of Lisa Goddard and Benno Blumenthal and their research and leadership contributions to the IRI and the global climate community.

The program will run from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with a reception to follow. A detailed speaker list and agenda will be posted shortly.

Portions of the event will be live-streamed. Please register for either in-person OR virtual attendance. Register here on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-international-research-institute-for-climate-and-society-turns-25-tickets-401259707587

Please note that all guests to campus are required to comply with Columbia University's Health and Safety Policy for visitors, which includes mandatory primary COVID-19 vaccination for all eligible individuals.
