Announcing the Climate School’s 2025 Small Seed Funding Grants
January 15, 2025
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to apply to the 2025 Climate School’s Small Seed Funding Grants!
This Seed Funding opportunity will focus on providing small grants ($1K - $7K) intended to offer support for ongoing research efforts. These grants are designed to enhance and sustain impactful, exploratory work that aligns with the Climate School’s mission and Action Collaboratives:
-
Small Grants ($1K - $7K): Partial support of postdoc/student time, non-personnel research costs, travel, planning events, research materials and supplies, and/or participant support costs
All Columbia Climate School Officers of Research and Faculty may apply for Seed Funding support. The Seed Funding Program encourages projects that align with the school’s Action Collaboratives (Food, Energy, Water, Built Environment, Disasters) and the mission of the Climate School.
Applications for the Seed Funding Program are currently open and will close at 5 pm on Friday, February 14, 2025.
All funded projects must be completed by the end of the calendar year, with all allocated funds spent by December 31, 2025. Please note that no-cost extensions will NOT be allowed, so careful planning is essential to ensure all project goals are met within the specified timeline.
If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Research at [email protected]. We very much look forward to receiving your proposals, which we anticipate will help define and advance the Climate School’s research vision.
Sincerely,
Janice Savage, MS
Assistant Dean for Research
Columbia Climate School
